Such a shock to hear that you'd left this world Joe.
A remarkable man. When I think of a word to describe Joe, the one that stands out for me is 'committed'. He was committed to his family, colleagues and friends, he was committed to working hard and committed to having fun.
Lovely memories of being down the city ground, being in the pubs before the match and you not sitting with me Paul and Greg as we were 'hooligans'.
You are terribly missed Joe, I think of you often.
Lots of love xxx

I remember him from cadets getting a few bollocking from him but also some wise words the year I left to join the army. Such sad news thoughts and prayers are with the family at this sad time. RIP.
Joe will always be "The RSM" to me. Watching him approach across the square was a mixture of fear and joy, never knew whether you were about to get a joke or a bollocking. Kept us on our toes!
