To John's Family Alex and May. It was great to work for John at Cashpoint. he was true gentleman and great guy to work for and known as person. he was very kind man and I will always remember going to clients together and chat in the car for a couple of hours. Sorry to her about John RIP. Mohamed
Shocked beyond words to hear this news. John was a fabulous chap and helped me immensely over the years. I will miss you a huge amount. Calm seas and gentle winds forever my friend
To John's family,
It was a great honour to have known John. He did what he said he'd do which is a rare thing these days. A true gent and a pleasure to deal with, particularly as I was a beginner in the confusing world of boats. Thank you John and may you rest in peace.
To John's family:-
Boatshed was obviously a big part of John's life as John was a big part of ours. Regrettably, Neil & Mandy Chapman (Co Founders & Managing Directors of Boatshed.com) are unable to make the funeral as they are away in France on business. I will attend in their place (I am Boatshed's Liaison Manager - reporting directly into Neil & Mandy) to say goodbye to John from all of us. We are very proud to have worked with John and very proud of what he did with the Bristol Brand. He will always be one of our most successful Brokers contributing greatly to the success of Boatshed.com over the years. We will miss him as a colleague and as a friend. Sleep peacefully John and keep selling those boats up there up there :)
Barbara & all of us at Boatshed.com xx
Dear Dad,
Sorry I cannot be there for your final farewell, but I was so glad I had the chance to say goodbye.
I love you and will miss you. Life will never be the same without you!
So as your pull up anchor and sail away for the last time, bon voyage until we meet again.
Your loving daughter.

Very sad and shocked to hear of Nick’s passing. At Conway we rowed together, played rugby together, and managed to get in to trouble together at away matches.
We last met in 2009 after forty seven years, and nothing had changed, he was still the same guy I knew in 1962. He’ll be missed.

I was sad to hear of Nick's departure. I first knew Nick when he was 11/12 and went to Chipping Sodbury Grammar with my elder brother Richard. I was so impressed at the time because he used to call his Mum by her Christian name Doris. He was always dependable, very considerate and if you ever needed help or good advice, he was there. He introduced me into Rank Xerox (and I think he got paid for it as well) when I really needed a good job because of my young family at the time. I will always feel privileged to have know him and wish his family well.

Deeply saddened to hear that John is no longer with us. He was a great
guy to work and socialise with; he was always so positive and encouraging.
My thoughts are with May and the family.
Shocked and surprised at John's passing. I Will miss his open friendly fun loving nature and good advice!

John, I think we were winning you over to the idea of visiting your family down under; would so love to have shared our life with you down here, even for the shortest period.
It has been a privilege to call you my father in law, thank you for being so tolerant and understanding.. I reckon that had we been at sea in the same era, I would have got to know you a whole lot better. I also suspect it would have been dangerous!
Your greatest legacy is your wonderful family, of which I am lucky enough to be a part. You will always be sadly missed, but I know that the tight bond will always remain and so will you.
GLORIA and I were shocked and saddened to hear that John had passed on . Our thoughts are with May and family. Memories abound but in particular JC mentored me during my time at Xerox for which I was eternally grateful. Rest easy JC , we will catch up at some point. Westy
John, I’ve known you for the best part of fifty years, and along the way we’ve shared some great times. It’s incredibly sad you’ve left us so soon, but those memories will live on forever. John, I appreciate your friendship and will never forget you.
True friends are like diamonds, they’re rare, take years in the making, and each one is unique. Adios amigo.
Thinking of you and the family at this sad time May. Remember our working together all those years ago like yesterday. John was a rock to work with and learn from.....and with that terrific dry-pan sense of humour. Had the benefit of his wisdom again last year when taking to the seas. Will remember him with great fondness.Love and best wishes at this sad time. Paul & Fiona xx
Nick was an Old Conway, exhibiting all the qualities one would expect of an OC.
I met him only infrequently, most recently at one of the Bristol Maritime events where a group of Old Conways congregated aboard his yacht for a few libations. It was then that I found out that he'd lived almost opposite us in Chipping Sodbury and his family were known to my wife's.
He was a valued member of the Old Conways' Chat Group and a regular contributor. He will be sorely missed.
John was one of our Trustees at the Portishead Cruising Club a person who you could rely on at all times to give sound honest advise, a person who loved to live a full life. He was a friendly smiling face on the Portishead pontoons who touched many peoples lives and a person who will be remembered for a long time to come.
Champ if your dad was anything like you , then I'm sure your extremely proud to call him your dad , so sorry to hear this especially after a friend so recent aswell! Chin up mate and all the best wishes to you and your family xx
