Eddie was a much loved husband, father, grandad, brother, uncle, friend and partner. We are so sad to have had to say goodbye to him but we want to celebrate the amazing man that he was.
He meant so much to so many people and we would love you to leave a short message or happy memory you have of him.
We would also like to ask that instead of sending flowers to the funeral please could you make a donation to our selected charity, The Royal Papworth Trust. Papworth is such an important hospital to us and Eddie had his heart transplant there, which gave us an extra 17 years with him that we did not think we would get. The funeral will need to a small family affair but when we’re able to, we’ll hold a memorial and we hope you’ll be able to join us to celebrate Eddie's life.

So many wonderful memories of times with you, Patsy and Ryan staying at home and in Blackpool, Torquay, Isle of Wight etc - breaking things, stopping cars because of water fights, spending all our money at the arcades, washing your cars (badly). Well be here for Patsy & Ryan. Rest in peace uncle Eddie, all our love xxx
RIP Eddie - always funny to be with and always willing to give generously of his time for our BBC Radio Bristol charity events for Comic Relief. A legend who will be sadly missed but who leaves a legacy of laughs and happy memories.
Ryan, I was so sorry to hear about your Dad.
Whenever I used to call round, your dad, even though he didnt know me, would make a gag like: two Eds are better than one or: hows your Uncle Joe (the goalkeeper!!). He clearly had a amazing way of making people feel important.
Sending best wishes to you and your family.
Ed x
Ed you were a fantastic comedian and an even better friend. We treasured the laughs and the good times shared. You and Patsy have given us treasured memories and you will not be forgotten by our family. Bridgette and Mark
Growing up in the 70's/80's was made much more fun thanks to the irrepressible, comedy talent of Eddie. His was a special contribution; jokes, impressions, sketches and catchphrases that kept us laughing and were adopted into our everyday lives. Heartfelt condolences to all of his family. RIP
As a child of the 70s and 80s I grew up watching you and Sid. Thank you for the laughs and memories. Rest easy big man, I am sure that you are already making God laugh with impressions of His angels!
From seeing you in the early days with Syd to meeting you at Maine Road watching the "Blues" Then working with you and Syd as Stage Manger on the Bournemouth summer season, you were always "Eddie" one of the nicest people we have known..
We will never forget you. Keith & Carol. x
Saw Syd and Eddie many times in the clubs. Met both of them and wrote a bit for their telly show. Really lovely guys. Eddie you will be greatly missed for your humour, your friendliness and your warmth. Much love and respect to your family. X
As huge fan of Little & Large when growing up.. it felt like an honour to actually work with them nearly 20 years ago. Eddie and Sid where both kind and encouraging when giving me advice on a career in comedy. Theyre one of the reasons im still perfoming today. Much love to all Eddies friends and family. X
