Desmond Beresford

Desmond was a big family man who was married to Jane who he had 3 beautiful daughters with; Sophie, Natalie and Leanna who gave him 5 amazing grandchildren. Arriving in England from his native Guyana at the age of 2 where he was one of 25 siblings, Desmond made an impactful life in Bristol as an engineer, business owner and popular member of the football community where he infamously shouted “Go on my son” from the sidelines in his football management years. 18 months ago he received the devastating news he had Pancreatic Cancer. He was a big strong man who fought a good fight, and even beat death last summer, however after Christmas his health went downhill and on Tuesday 26th February he said enough was enough. He bowed out on his own terms to a new life, but his spirit lives on in all of us.
